Basic Computer Skills for the Workplace
This class is free and targets those who are job-hunting or need computer
skills for their jobs. Call the library’s Information Desk to

Computer Basics & Mouse Skills – Instructor: S. Lambert
If you are in the workplace or trying to get a job, but feel like the
digital age has left you behind, this class can be your first step on
the road to acquiring computer skills. You will learn how to use the
mouse and some basics of Windows XP.
No prerequisites.

A First Computer Class - Bill Cunningham
This class is for those who know nothing about computers and don’t
know where to start. You will learn what word-processing is and what
you can use the Internet for. You will practice using a mouse for simple
tasks.

Getting Started with “Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing” –
Bill Cunningham
For those who want to learn to type or improve their keyboarding skills.
In this class you will learn how to register and use the popular “Mavis
Beacon” software, an individualized program for working on keyboarding
skills. After the class, you will be able to use this software, which
is installed on all of the computers on the first floor of the library.

Introduction to Microsoft Word – Bill Cunningham
This class is for beginners. Learn some basics of this popular word-processing
program, including creating and editing text.

Introduction to the Internet – Bill Cunningham
This class is for beginners. Learn some basics of navigating on the
World Wide Web.
Friday, June 18, 10-11:30 a.m.
Intermediate Microsoft Word – Bill Cunningham
This class is for those have taken Introduction to Microsoft Word or
have some knowledge of Word. Learn more about creating and editing text
with this popular word-processing program.
Thursday, June 24, 10-11:30 a.m.
Keyboard Shortcuts– Bill Cunningham
In this class students will learn how to perform many frequently used
tasks using the keyboard instead of the mouse. Students should be familiar
with the keyboard and Microsoft Word or other word processing programs.
Friday, June 25, 10-11:30 a.m.
