The Friends of Vineland Public Library organized in 1970 to help build a new library building. Our efforts resulted in the beautiful library on Landis Avenue, which opened its doors in 1976. Forty years later the Friends are still active and our work is still critical to the community library's success. Thanks to your support, last year the Friends' fund raising projects raised more than $15,000, which we devoted to much need library resources not covered by state or city funding. More than 15,000 children, teens and
adults benefited from programs sponsored by the Friends of the Vineland
Library. We continue to fund programs for children and parents, teens
and adults: Family Nights; Kids Talk Literary Magazine; Reading Clubs;
The Teen Club; "Teen Talk"; Puppy Tales; the Children's
Butterfly Garden dedicated to the memory of Leslie N. Kotok; Non-fiction
DVDs and Books on CD; Author Events; Training for staff; Scrabble
Night; My First Library Card and English as a Second Language display
and materials.
