Nicki is a Therapy Dog certified ISSDC Shiloh Shepherd who has also passed the American Kennel Club Good Citizen Test. She is also registered with R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs). Nicki lives in Hammonton with her family. She is owned and handled by Marilyn Bartolone.

Nicki was only eight weeks old when she left her five brothers and sisters. "Dinner was a real free for all with all of us trying to get our noses in the puppy dish." laughs Nicki. Nicki now lives with two cats named Pippers and Boo and a two other Shiloh Shepherds. "I love the dogs and cats" says Nicki, "but they keep me on my toes." It took Nicki nine long months to make friends with the cats. "I thought they would never, ever love me ... but we are pals now."

The Shiloh Shepherd is considered a rare breed in the dog world. What makes the Shiloh Sherherd so special is they take on the best traits of a German Shepherd. They are smart, good natured, have strength and elegance. They are very devoted to their families and love children.

Nicki loves just about everything and everyone. "It's true ... I love life. But my most favorite thing in the whole, wideRead to me! world is having my tummy scratched." Nicki also enjoys helping out in the kitchen. One night she decided she was going to make dog biscuits. "Oops, it looked so easy when mom was baking. I got in big trouble when the family came downstairs and found flour all over the place." grins Nicki. "I had to go in the "time out" room to think about it."

Nicki is a beautifully behaved, very happy dog. She loves attention and listening to stories from all kinds of books. She is just waiting for someone to visit the library and read her a book. It might be lucky you!
