Puppy Tales Team Members

Faith and Hope are Therapy Dog certified American Bulldogs. They have been approved to work as a team. Both Faith and Hope have passed the AKC Good Citizen Test. Faith and Hope are R.E.A.D.© (Reading Education Assistance Dog) registered. They are owned and handled by Dr. Lisa Mazzochi.

Faith and Hope go to work with mom each day. "Mom is a Veterinarian" explains Faith "and we help socialize puppies who visit." Hope grins, "Yea! Those pups can be quite an office-full. Mom sometimes rewards us with something called Frosty Paws - it tastes just like ice cream - yum." Faith drools "or greenies…..I lo-v-v-ve greenies!"

Dr. Mazzochi insisted she would never have another dog when her beloved pet died several years ago. "But then we came on the scene" says Faith. "I gave mom the biggest, best hug ever and Hope just looked sad and hopeful." Now who can resist the sweet smell of puppy breath, puppy hugs and puppy-dog eyes?

American Bulldogs can range in size from 60 to 140 pounds. They are very muscular, strong dogs. It is important to socialize all puppies to different people and places when very young so they will be well mannered adults. "We grew up in Mom's Pet Vet office. Mom also took us all over the place when we were just kids" giggles Hope. "And we sometimes got into big trouble." But Faith and Hope turned out to be gentle, obedient and calm dogs who take things in stride. They walk nicely on a leash, know how to stay and sit and love people. "We are not happy when mom leaves us though." Faith and Hope say together.

Both dogs are stars. Hope has her own line of porcelain products and Faith has a line of wooden products. Look for their pictures on mugs, cookie jars, jackets, jewelry boxes and even umbrellas.

Faith and Hope love listening to stories. They visit the library just waiting for children to settle between them and read a book out loud. Will you be the lucky one to tuck yourself between these beautiful girls and tell them a story?
