Lexis is a Siberian Husky who is Therapy Dog certified. She has passed the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen test. Lexis is owned and handled by Lee McHugh.

Lexis came into the McHugh family when she was only 10 weeks old. She has 5 brothers and sisters (all of them dogs) and also lives with several cats. "My human family just can't say no to soft puppy and kitten eyes" says Lexis. "But my favorite sibling-dog is a little Bichon - we are just the best of friends." Lexis does get into trouble when she sneaks food from her brothers and sisters. "Gee…..I'm just hungry. I don't mean to be naughty" whispers Lexis.

Camping is a favorite activity for Lexis. "You get to be outside all the time, curl up by a fire when it gets dark and play in the water. Once in a great while a marshmallow falls and I sneak a bite." grins Lexis. Lexis loves to meet other dogs and people - but children are her favorite people! Her favorite food is sirloin beef patties.

The weather is important to the Husky breed. When it is hot outside a husky will shed an awful lot - in fact, Siberian Huskies shed non-stop! So, if you have an aversion to dog hair think about getting a different breed. Lexis loves to lay on the air conditioning vent during summer months. But huskies love being outside in the winter and snow just sends a husky into jumps for joy. Siberian Huskies love to run and must be kept under control at all times. If you own a Siberian Husky it is of the utmost importance that you have a fenced-in yard. Huskies value company from people and other dogs. This is a friendly and gentle dog who makes a wonderful companion. He is in the working class breed originally used to pull sleds in Asia and Alaska. This is an intelligent breed who is willing to work.

Lexis is very excited about being a Puppy Tales dog. She loves books and listening to a good story especially if it is about another dog or her favorite place Alaska. Read Lexis a book and get ready for her to curl right up beside you. Visit Vineland Public Library and you might be lucky enough to read a story to this very special dog.
