Italian Heritage Student Art Exhibit
at Vineland Public Library

Vineland Public Library is featuring a juried art exhibit of South Jersey high school art students from October 6 – 29, 2011. High schools from throughout South Jersey are participating in the exhibit. An "Art Afternoon" program will be held at the Vineland Public Library, 1058 E. Landis Avenue, on Saturday, October 29, at 12:00 p.m. Over twenty awards, including Best in Show, will be given for winning entries during the program.

Renowned artist Burton Wasserman will critique the award-winning entries during the program. Wasserman is a retired professor of art at Rowan University. He is the author of five books, hundreds of magazine articles about artists and their work and contributes monthly columns of criticism and commentary to ICON and ART MATTERS. Wasserman has also dealt with art on radio and television in New York City and Philadelphia. He has held more than 40 solo shows and his paintings, relief constructions and original screen prints are numbered among the holdings of 35 museums and other institutional settings in America and abroad. The art show is organized by Dr. Frank DeMaio as part of the cultural activities of the Sicilian American Club in honor of Italian Heritage Month.
