Vineland Mayor Robert Romano presented Vineland Public Library Director Gloria Urban with a Certificate of Appreciation for sponsoring the Angel Tree for the past 15 years. Romano noted the library is “admired highly for the work they do for the City of Vineland its residents”. Angel Tree Coordinator Alex Kaganzev said library staff have shown dedication and devotion to this wonderful project that touches the heart of many needy children. Kaganzev went on the say there is a 95% return rate because of the diligence of library staff.

Each year, an Angel Tree appears at the library. It is adorned with paper angels that list the age and gender of children who might not receive a holiday gift. Library staff ask residents to select an angel from the tree and purchase an appropriate toy or gift item. Many visitors to the library, as well as library staff, enjoy this tradition of giving back during the holiday season.
