BOARD OF TRUSTEES – MINUTES
December 18, 2014

A meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Vineland Public Library was held on Thursday, December 18, 2014 in the Community Event Room of the Library, 1058 E. Landis Avenue, Vineland, NJ.

Board of Trustees President Christine Schneider called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm. Notice of this meeting had been sent to the Office of the City Clerk, The Daily Journal, The Press, Channel 9 and was posted in the library in accordance with The Sunshine Law. Trustees present were Victor Druziako, Catherine Franzoi, Sally Goode, Whelma Irby, Josephine Orlando-Spinelli, Ross Stanger, and Christine Schneider. Also present were Interim Library Director Holly Rogerson and Administrative Clerk Mary Ann Rada.

MINUTES of November 20, 2014
Ms. Irby, seconded by Mrs. Spinelli, moved that the minutes of the November 20, 2014 Board of Trustees meeting be accepted. The motion was passed by unanimous consent.

TREASURER’S REPORT for November 2014
On a motion made by Ms. Irby, seconded by Mrs. Spinelli, Trustees approved the Treasurer’s Report for November, 2014. The Administrative Clerk called the roll: YEAS: Mr. Druziako, Mrs. Franzoi, Mrs. Goode, Ms. Irby, Mrs. Spinelli, Mr. Stanger, and Mrs. Schneider

SCHEDULE OF ACCOUNTS for December, 2014
The Schedule of Accounts for payments for December, 2014, in the amount of $23,847.28 ($13,261.92 – other expenses and $10,585.36– library materials) was authorized for payment by all present on a motion made by Ms. Irby, seconded by Mrs. Spinelli. The Administrative Clerk called the roll: YEAS: Mr. Druziako, Mrs. Franzoi, Mrs. Goode, Ms. Irby, Mrs. Spinelli, Mr. Stanger, and Mrs. Schneider

APPROVAL OF PAYMENT OF SALARIES AND BENEFITS for month of January, 2015
On a motion made by Ms. Irby, seconded by Mrs. Spinelli, Trustees approved the payment of salaries and benefits for the month of January, 2015. The Administrative Clerk called the roll: YEAS: Mr. Druziako, Mrs. Franzoi, Mrs. Goode, Ms. Irby, Mrs. Spinelli, Mr. Stanger, and Mrs. Schneider

CORRESPONDENCE
There was no correspondence.

LIBRARY DIRECTOR’S REPORT
A copy of the Library Director’s Report is attached to the original minutes. Mrs. Rogerson added the following:
• Ms. Rogerson received an email from Architect Pedersen reporting that the scupper boxes have been installed, caulking will be complete on Monday, December 22, and Varco Pruden inspection on roof for warranty has been completed.
• All temporary facilities have been removed including fencing and dumpsters.
• An appointment can be scheduled after December 22 for the punch out list.
• Mrs. Rogerson attended a budget meeting at City Hall. She was asked to compose a list of capital improvement projects.

Trustees received a Community Relations Report for November.

Accept Grants and Donations into CY14 Budget Lines

On a motion made by Ms. Irby, seconded by Mrs. Spinelli, Trustees accepted the following grants and donations into CY 2014 budget lines.

5K Donations 2014 $2,175.33 Library Material
5K Donations 2014 $1,069.67 Supplies
5K Donations 2014 $650.00 Misc.
Italian Heritage 2014 $500.00 Supplies

Accept Memorials income and expenses into CY14 Budget Lines
On a motion made by Ms. Irby, seconded by Mrs. Spinelli, Trustees accepted the following memorials income and expenses into the CY 2014 budget lines.

Accept the Save the Book Campaign donations income and expenses into CY14 budget lines
On a motion made by Mrs. Spinelli seconded by Ms. Irby, Trustees accepted the Save the Book Campaign funds into CY 2014 budget lines.

Accept Foundation Reimbursement for Innovative into CY2014 budget lines
On a motion made by Ms. Irby, seconded by Mrs. Spinelli, Trustees accepted the Foundation reimbursement for Innovative into the CY2014 budget.

Innovative expenses $12,138.33 Computer Sharing Costs

The Administrative Clerk called the roll: YEAS: Mr. Druziako, Mrs. Franzoi, Mrs. Goode, Ms. Irby, Mrs. Spinelli, Mr. Stanger, and Mrs. Schneider

APPROVAL TO HIRE RAHIMENUR AKISLER AS PART-TIME STUDENT ASSISTANT IN THE REFERENCE DEPARTMENT
On a motion made by Mr. Stanger, seconded by Mrs. Spinelli, Trustees approved the hire of Rahimenur Akisler as part-time Student Assistant in the Reference Department. The Administrative Clerk called the roll: YEAS: Mr. Druziako, Mrs. Franzoi, Mrs. Goode, Ms. Irby, Mrs. Spinelli, Mr. Stanger, and Mrs. Schneider

PUBLIC COMMENT
On motion made by Mr. Druziako and seconded by Ms. Irby, Trustees moved to open the meeting to the public. The motion was passed by unanimous consent.

No members of the public were present.

On motion made by Mr. Druziako, and seconded by Mrs. Goode, Trustees moved to close the public comment session of the meeting. The motion was passed by unanimous consent.

OTHER
There was no other business.

EXECUTIVE SESSION
On a motion made by Mrs. Spinelli, seconded by Ms. Irby, Trustees agreed to go into Executive Session. The motion was passed by unanimous consent.

On a motion made by Mrs. Spinelli, seconded by Ms. Irby, Trustees agreed to come out of Executive Session. The motion was passed by unanimous consent.

ADJOURNMENT
