What does “V” stand for these Days?
by Liza Monroy

It’s not your fault you’ve
got the smile and eyes of
a movie star
You got found now you’re
lost and you’re currently
making up time
it just happens you’re named Veronica
this lady’s miles
on feet of poetry
and never even breaks a sweat
so Veronica
knock it off
She can look at you like you
don’t even matter
but you’ll feel like
she really does
she’s got eyes of dirt
that’ll grow on you
like a couple of kids
She would have been
Veronica
Who knows what pumps
in her veins because it can’t
be blood
she is substance she is amplified to
100 degrees she is shade donde ella esta
hace mucho calor
Who can forget someone named Veronica?
