*IT*
by Samantha Holt

A dark cloud overpowers my mind & I’m enchanted by its gloom.
So I let it take me for a ride.
As it teaches me good from evil it whispers in my ear, Can you taste the greatness? Can you feel the fear?
We fly high in the sky lit up bright by the moon & it turns to me once again & says,
Would you like to see more? How about a man killing a whore? How the living become dead? How the black becomes red?
Overwhelmed yet enchanted by its dark minded power.
I can’t help myself but to cower.
I build up enough courage to talk to it & ask, How can you have so much evil? How do you know so much play? It looks at me as if I’m the crazy one, but starts to explain its eyes, it says, You think I’m the evil one? You think I’m the one who lies? I am but a minion a messenger for the greater force. The king is the one who is in love. The king is the one who saw you on your black horse.
But for now I have told you all you need to know. So wait with great patience, for one day you will know the rest, & I promise you it will be great it will be the best!

Changing Perceptions
by Evelyn Duffy

I have stood on windswept beaches,
Facing head-on the pulsing, unforgiving, always daring ocean,
I have faced the winds and seas of the earth.
I have climbed upon its mountain peaks,
And walked its forests and deserts.
I have strode out wailing into the night,
Demanding, craving, begging for a force to fill my mind.
I have stood at the mighty abyss and stared out
At that which they call God,
And I have not been found wanting.
