Hole in my Heart

by Anonymous

Missing you

Hurts like no other pain

A piece of my heart

Was ripped out

Spat upon and now it sits beneath your shoe.

I love you still

And you will always be in my heart

Second chances come easy this you know

But 3rd’s are impossible for you.

I love you always

Remembering the good times

I’ll try to forget the pain

While you move on again

I’ll just try and forget

The day I said, "Do you love me?"

And you said no.

Rainbow Waterfalls

by Evelyn Duffy

Rainbow waterfalls,

dripping down my eyes.

I see them in the golden world

that is the dwelling of the wise.

I go through my tiny golden door

and find a saintly man;

he lets me ride in his paper boat

and he takes me for what I am.

I become a golden one,

and can see my glowing soul.

Only in this silent world

can I let my mask unfold.

If I stayed here long, I would not last,

but sometimes I have to wonder

if a golden death would not improve upon

a leaden life beat under.

Bird’s Eye

by Liza Monroy

I could have sworn

everyone that walked by was

someone

I knew

leaning against a letter

what came so clear

we don’t it but it hurts

and we don’t know it

but we’re dying in our seats

waiting for a bus or waiting

for a fig

to fall

off a tree

resting on a letter

it became so clear

dreams are knives

juggle and cuts are just

flat tires that get in the

way and exhaust

going out of the pipe

is just a big brown cloud of love running through

our veins

I wasn’t happy in somebody’s

arms

I am happy on my own

I just got to keep telling myself

that

because even sleeping in clean

sheets I still

wake up

feeling dirty

even if you’re packing

suitcases

someone still asks you

what’s your hurry?

even if it meant the

Christmas tree wouldn’t

have any lights

I’d still leave

and lean against a letter

I could have sworn everyone that

walked by was someone that I

knew

because I have a bird’s

eye point of view
