November Programs

 

Attention, Nerdfighters! Read and discuss John Green's latest novel, in November.

Creative young adults ages 13-18 who are current volunteers or who would like to share their ideas for programs at the Vineland Public Library are invited to participate in teen programs each month.

The following is the teen program schedule.

Teen programs are funded by The Friends of the Vineland Public Library. Programs are for ages 13-18 only unless otherwise noted.

Teen Club Meeting/Library Book Sale Setup

Wednesday, November 1, 5 to 6:30 p.m., Community Event Room/Tripp RoomJoin us for pizza and a half-hour meeting before helping to set up The Friends of the Vineland Public Library’s Annual Book Sale. Please register here and let us know you’re coming by October 30th. You may stay later than 6:30 p.m. if necessary.

 

Teen Anime Night

Wednesday, November 8, 5 to 6:30 p.m.,Teen Room -View and discuss anime and share artwork. This program is in compliance with an agreement through Crunchyroll. To register, call the Children's Department at 856-794-4244 ext. 4246 or register here.

Second Saturday in the Teen Room

 

Saturday, November 11, 1-4 p.m., Second Saturday, Teen Room – Come to the Teen Room to make marble magnets or just hang out and use the Maker Cart supplies, computers or Xbox. This program is funded through a Community Development Block Grant through the City of Vineland. No registration is required.

 

 

 

Epic Debates & Harvest Potluck Program


Wednesday, November 15, 5 to 6:30 p.m., Teen Room – Bring some food to share for a potluck and ponder such questions as: DC vs. Marvel? Harry Potter vs. Frodo Baggins? Turkey vs. Tofurky? Teen Volunteer Shelving Training

Monday, Monday, November 20, 4 to 5:30 p.m., Children's Department - Need to fulfill some volunteer hours? Fill out a Teen Volunteer application and attend a volunteer shelving training session. *YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 13 & HAVE STARTED 8TH GRADE TO VOLUNTEER.* Please only attend if you want to learn how to shelve books in the Children's Department.

 

Book Discussion, Turtles All the Way Down by John Green

Wednesday, November 29, 5 to 6 p.m.,Teen Room – Teens will discuss Turtles All the Way Down by John Green.

Sixteen-year-old Aza never intended to pursue the mystery of fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, but there’s a $100,000 reward at stake and her Best and Most Fearless Friend, Daisy, is eager to investigate. So together, they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them from Russell Pickett’s son, Davis. Aza is trying to be a good daughter, a good friend, a good student, and maybe even a good detective, while also living within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.
